I purchased two Kayak lifts. One went in as outlined in the instructions, the other had a defective part. I contact customer service and they had a new one on its way to me that day. I received exactly what I needed and completed the installation in 5 minutes. The person I worked with in CS could not have been more understanding.

Extreme Max Kayak / Canoe Hoist & Lift

The product was easy to install. The issue is the design and materials that were used. The rope needed to pull the kayak/boat in position is of very poor quality. The locking mechanism is troublesome probably due to the quality of the rope. In addition the pulley design required a large physical effort to pull up just a 40 pound kayak. I don't believe I could pull up a 100 pound object (rated max. weight). The product is NOT recommended.

This product does not work as described. The straps slide out from under the kayak, you can make some other ways to stop the straps from slipping like running them thru seats or handles. When I did then pulling the rope was the next challenge, I'm fairly strong, not a weight lifter but still hard to pull, I'm not sure why, it seems to me the block and tackle should be able to to lift with one hand easy but that not the case. However I'm not returning the product cause I found a way to use it at least one pulley, I attached it to the rafters and can easily pull my kayak up (vertical) and let the back end rest on the floor, now I don't have to worry about the straps slipping off and come crashing down to the floor or me or anything that might be under it. Give it 5 stars for my new design, that works great.
